What the video says

0:00After a hurricane, the first question every roofer asks is where the wind hit the hardest. And you don't need to dig through a menu to find out. You can just ask SI. Let me show you.

0:15Press Ask SI and type: where was the wind worst, October 8th to October 10th? SI draws the wind swath right on your map and fills in the dates for you. Those colors are the estimated top wind gust, in bands of 10 miles an hour. Just know the swath shows up to seven days at a time.

0:38Want to see only the worst of it? Set the Min gust box to 80, and now you only see the heavy wind. And remember, this is an estimate from the government's hourly weather analysis, not a gauge in someone's yard.

0:52Now let's find the roofs. Draw a circle over the colors, and counting is free. This circle holds 37,133 homes we have a file on. That's your knock list after a windstorm. SI finds it, and you decide what to pull.

1:10Want to see the storm itself? Just ask: show me the hurricane. SI opens the Hurricane tracker with every storm it's following, and it tells you straight up when one is nowhere near an American roof.

1:24Here's Isaias. Drag the slider and watch it hour by hour. On October 8th, it's out in the Gulf. On the 9th, it's closing in on the coast. And by the 10th, it's already inland over Alabama. The bold rings show where the winds were at that hour.

1:41And the tracker keeps every storm for two years, so you can always go back. The last month shows on the map, and older ones are in the Older storms list. Just pick one, and its path and wind areas are right there.

1:55The wind, the hurricane, and the homes, all in one box. Go to stormsniper.ai and press Ask SI.
